The renowned and well-established International and National press is telling us that a technical government composed of "Financial Experts" well accepted within the European Institutions, will lead us out of the troubled situation that our economy is going through.
Prior to expressing any opinion about the potentials of a "technical" government, I would like to share a thought that has been buzzing around my head in the past few days.
Who are the International leaders that have been calling for such a slightly non-democratic change in Italy?
Angela Merkel, Deutsches Bundeskanzlerin;
Nicolas Sarkozy, Monsieur le President de la Republic Française;
Barak Obama, The President of The United States of America.
Their roles are absolutely overwhelming, but would the 3 of them be having the same roles in 2012???
The likelyhood that the 3 countries would change leader is very high, at least as low as the survey about their potential re-elections.
So what is the impact for them to lead such a strong pressure on Italy for it to change leadership? Would they need someone more "welcoming" (or with the words of the International Press "presentable" or "apt for the task") as representative of the 3rd largest European Economy and owner of the 3rd largest World gold reserves, with extremely high private savings sitting in very profitable banks?
How come the 3 of them called directly Mr. Napolitano to guide the Italian transition away from Berlusconi?
Let me suggest some ideas:
- Oil & Gas and Uranium in Lybia (read my posts on the topic: Realpolitik del Quai d'Orsay La France en Libye);
- Favour the sales of Italian companies to "their" corporations (BNL to BNP is a brilliant example: ask Mr. Prodi!!! read more) to pay with fresh assets the junk ones collected in Greece and Spain for example?
- the Italian relationship with Russia (once again Oil & Gas) and the South Stream Project instead of the North Stream?
- the positive Italian relationship with Israel
- the Italian position against the strict and abrupt application of the 20-20-20 program pushing Italy to invest in French nuclear technology and/or import more expensive energy
I had the chance to attend a meeting at Science Po in Paris and listen to Mr.Monti defend the Italian interests setting forth the inconsistency and short-sighted Mr. Juppè's (on a videoconference from Rome) and French position on where and how to create the High Voltage link on the Electric grid between France and Spain.
In that occasion, prior to his intervention, Mrs. Prestigiacomo (former Environmental Minister) asked Mr. Monti to help Mr. Berlusconi and Italy out of the stand-off created by previous Italian governments' positions.
Who will Mr. Monti help now with his "influential" position?
Why do we The People, need to be put under "control" by fading foreign leaders?
Let's not accept to be a mere colony, but fight for our deserved role with a democratically elected government, rebuilding our confidence and trust upon our means!!!!
